Growth GarageA proposal for Calforests

The website build

Your website, front and back.

The public site and the logged-in member area, built with the CRM so a join, a login, and an event registration land in the same member records your staff already work in.

Back to the overview

What this is

Two halves. A new front end for calforests.org, meaning the home page, the pages around it, and the logged-in area where members manage their own record. And a back end to manage it all, so your team can change content without calling anyone.

How it looks is wide open. The website does not have to match the admin and there is no reason it should: the admin is a tool your staff use all day, so it stays plain and quick, while the website is the thing your members and the public see and can be as visual and interactive as suits you. We would design it with you rather than hand you a fixed idea. What the two do share is the foundation underneath, which is what lets the site read and write the member database directly.

Where it meets the platform

This is the part that is hard to picture, so here it is plainly. Every one of these is a website page reading or writing the same member database your staff work in.

01

Joining online

The join form on the website writes straight into the member database. A new member shows up in the admin the moment they submit, with their type, their contact details and their first invoice already raised. Nobody retypes anything from an email.

02

Members signing in

One login covering the website and the member area, where a member can see and update their own record. The site checks the same member records the admin runs on, so someone's type, status and renewal date read the same on both sides because they are the same record.

03

Events on the website

Event pages read from the events module. Ticket types, prices and places left come straight off the event record, and a registration taken on the website lands in the same attendee list your staff already work from. No exporting, no reconciling two lists the week before FSI.

04

Sponsors and the directory

Sponsor logos and the member directory build themselves from member records. They change when a membership changes, not when somebody remembers to go and edit a page.

05

One source of truth

Nothing is copied between two systems, because there is only one system. The website is a window onto the same database the admin runs on, which is why it is worth building the two on the same foundation rather than bolting a site onto the side later.

What it replaces

The Wix site. The public site stops being a template Calforests rents by the month and starts being a site Calforests owns outright, on an account in your name, like everything else in this proposal.

Cost.

Front end

A full refresh of the public site: design, build, every page moved across, and the logged-in member area.

$3,000

Back end

A management system for the site, plus wiring it into the CRM so the join form, logins, and event pages all read and write the member database.

$2,800

Website build

The two above, one fixed fee.

$5,800

Hosting

Hosting for the website. Calforests already owns the domain and keeps paying for it, so that is not in this number. This replaces what Wix charges you today.

$50per month

Priced on its own line. It can be built with the CRM or after it. The overview lists this fee with the others and does not add them into one total.
